We were honored to welcome Unmani as our April 2025 Satsang guest. Her conversation with Anja Janssen was both inspiring and insightful, offering profound reflections that resonated deeply with our community.

Here is some information about Unmani:
Meeting with Unmani is meeting with yourself in the most real and alive way. Unmani is originally from the UK, but has lived in many countries around the world. Since she was a child, Unmani didn’t identify with being a separate individual, but assumed there was something wrong with her, until she came across the expression of Satsang and nonduality. Truth has always been her passion. Unmani had teachers including Osho, Dolano, Nathan Gill, Tony Parsons, Gangaji and several other amazing people who are not considered ‘teachers’.

In 2013 she met her husband, the wonderful musician, and courageous lover of life, Robert Hanuman. In 2015 their son, Sky, was born. On 3rd January 2018, Robert Hanuman died suddenly from a heart attack while they were in India. Robert Hanuman’s presence deeply influenced Unmani’s teaching, and in the time they were together it evolved into a more human expression of the courage to live the paradox of the Absolute, living as this human. Robert put Unmani’s words to his beautiful classical guitar music and Unmani still plays his songs at her meetings.

Unmani has been holding meetings and retreats all over the world for since 2003, and in this time people have been deeply touched by her work: She meets each person exactly where they are at, and in whatever they need at the time, while at the same time holding them in the truth of who they really are beyond it all. This combination, and paradox, of the personal and impersonal, brings so much depth, openness and healing to people’s lives. They wake up to who they really are, and discover how this is lived and integrated into their daily lives.

Unmani has written 3 books “I am Life itself“, “Die to Love” and “The Courage to Come Alive”. Unmani holds regular meetings and retreats several times a year as well as monthly webinars on different themes.

We were honored to welcome John Mark Stroud as our March 2025 Satsang guest. His conversation with Joseph Schmitz was both inspiring and insightful, offering profound reflections that resonated deeply with our community.

Here is some information about John Mark Stroud:
A single unexpected moment in John Mark’s mid 20’s left him with a vast sense of emptiness.

He would spend the next 15 years immersed in worldly activity, trying in vain to fill this emptiness. His “normal” life of businessman, husband, and father had all the hallmarks of great success. But that vast emptiness keep haunting him.

Finally, in 2007, he was compelled by some greater force to sell his business and begin the inward search for the true peace and happiness that had always eluded him. Almost immediately he was swept up in a tidal wave of Grace.  For a man used to control and responsibility, it was particularly unsettling that these miracles began to move and direct his life into uncharted waters.

In 2009, he was guided to “A Course in Miracles.” Instinctively, he knew this was what he had been searching for. It was as though it had been written just for him. The Course in Miracles led him to the direct experience of God’s limitless Love and Perfect Peace.

Here is some information about Brother James Twyman:
Brother James Twyman, also know as “The Peace Troubadour”, is a Franciscan friar and Episcopal Priest who founded Namaste Village in Ajijic, Mexico. He is a NY Times bestselling author, having written twenty-two books, and has recorded over nineteen musical albums.

James Twyman is known for his work in non-dualistic spirituality and has traveled to conflict zones around the world to share prayers of peace. He has also initiated world synchronized meditations in countries like Bosnia, Iraq, Northern Ireland, and Syria.

Namaste Village is an interfaith contemplative community that focuses on spiritual teachings and practices, including A Course in Miracles, A Course in Love and the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi. The community gathers for meditation, sharing, singing, and other activities aimed at fostering spiritual awakening and compassion.

We were delighted to welcome our founding minister, Regina Dawn Akers, as our January 2025 Satsang guest. Regina was interviewed by our President Minister, Rev. Rhoda Makled.

Following one of Regina’s recent homilies, Rhoda found herself writing to Regina to inquire about some of her statements during the gathering. What followed was a conversation about some of the questions Rhoda found herself not posing publicly with others.
