In this member meeting our President-Minister, Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert, and Rev. Joanne Schneider facilitated the Awakening Together ordination ceremony. We had six newly ordained Ministers in the evening program and two new ministers were ordained earlier in the day during fellowship time.

Also, Jane Marie Sobel and Pieter Van Prooijen, our new Retreat House Caretakers introduced themselves.

• We met the nominees for the Member Board of Trustees: Rhoda Makled and Anne Blanchard.
• Jacquelyn Eckert and Regina Dawn Akers shared about the re-opening of the retreat house with the in-person Silence and Satsang Retreat in August.
• Jacquelyn shared more about the trustee elections.
• We learned more about the Fall Retreat and the Rebecca Folsom concert on October 15th, 2021.
• Jacquelyn reviewed the 2021 first-quarter financial statements.

At this meeting, we heard the latest updates from representatives of three of our subcommittees, the Ministers Association Subcommittee, the Satsang Subcommittee, and the Movie Discussion Group Subcommittee. Jacquelyn discussed Awakening Together’s policy restricting counseling to Ordained Ministers and a new addition to our Etiquette Guidelines. Jacquelyn presented the 2020 Year-End Financial Report. Finally, Jacquelyn shared an exciting announcement that the Awakening Together Retreat House is completely paid off.

This Special Member Meeting was to help you decide who you want to vote for. In this meeting we met the five nominees. We heard from each nominee and why they feel that they are a perfect match to be on our Board of Trustees.  Read Their Bios

You should have received an official ballot on June 15, 2020. Please mark your ballots by the deadline of Tuesday, June 30, 2020.  Remember that each Awakening Together member may vote for up to four different candidates. We are very excited to be welcoming four new Trustees to the Member Board of Trustees. We thank you for your continued participation in our Trustee election process. Remember you get 4 votes. At this meeting Regina, Jacquelyn and Doreen discussed how ministers and members can come together to support Awakening Together and each other as our Association moves in a new direction. Regina discussed the transition of our Association from what has often been a leader driven group to one that is led through the inspiration and innovation of its many ministers and members. Doreen Bonnet shared the 6 inclinations for ministers to help you to discern your part in this journey as we step forward into this exciting next phase of Awakening Together.

Also, discussed at this meeting was the launch of a volunteer button on the menu bar of our website. There is a whole list of volunteer opportunities for Awakening Together members and ministers to participate in and a contact form if you feel guided to volunteer.
