1. Read NTI Matthew 6 (v1-4) through (v9-13).
2. Select an excerpt from the reading that inspires you to commit to the spiritual path or to God.

Tomorrow:

Review the excerpt you selected from the reading 2-3 times during the day.

Day 9 Assignment

Watch the following 7-minute video.

Tomorrow:

Pick an exercise from the previous week to do again.

Day 8 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):

Read NTI Matthew 5 (v38-48) to the end of the chapter.

Tomorrow:

Throughout the day, notice when you judge someone. Pause and notice how the person you are judging feels separate and different from you, and then say this to yourself:
Judgment makes separation seem real.

Day 7 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):

Read NTI Matthew 5 (v31, 32) through (v33-37).

Tomorrow:

1. Recall some times when you did something nice for someone because you wanted something in return (for example, to be seen as good, helpful, hardworking, etc.) For each one:
   a. Write down what you did for that person.
   b. Write down why you did it. What did you want in return?
   c. Remember what that felt like. Did you feel pure joy in the doing/giving?
2. Consider the exercises you’ve done this week. What insight arises?

Day 6 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):

Read NTI Matthew 5 (v27, 28) through (v29, 30).

Tomorrow:

Throughout the day, notice when you hold on to unloving thoughts about anyone. Pause and notice how that feels. Is it joy?

Day 5 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):

Read NTI Matthew 5 (v17-20) thru (v25, 26).

Tomorrow:

Throughout the day, notice when you think someone has done something wrong or unfair or disrespectful, etcetera to you. Pause and notice how that feels. Is it joy?

Day 4 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):
Do the assignments under this heading this evening, tomorrow morning, or split the tasks between this evening and tomorrow morning, whatever suits your schedule.

Read NTI Matthew 5 (v13-16).

Tomorrow:
Do the assignments under this heading tomorrow.

1. Review this 3 times during the day:
   The world is meaningless. All that brings meaning to the world is me.
2. Throughout the day, pay attention to see if you can notice the meaning you give to what happens during the day.
   Hint:  If you have one thought or opinion about something while someone else has a different thought or opinion, notice the meaning you are giving, and notice that meaning comes from your mind.

Day 3 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):
Throughout the 500 days, you can do the assignments under this heading in the evening, or tomorrow morning, or you can split the tasks between this evening and tomorrow morning, whatever suits your schedule.

1. Watch the following 6-minute video.
2. Read the “Blessed”s from NTI Matthew 5 (v3) thru (v11-12).
3. Select one “blessed,” and write a little about what it means to you or why you picked it.

Tomorrow:
Do the assignments under this heading during the day tomorrow.

Review the “blessed” that you selected and briefly think about the meaning it has for you 2-3 times during the day.

Day 2 Assignment

Today (or this evening):

1. Watch the following 6-minute video.
2. Read NTI Matthew, Chapters 1-4.
3. Write one sentence per chapter that summarizes an important point from that chapter. 

Tomorrow:

During the day tomorrow, review the 4 sentences that you wrote at least twice.

Day 1 Assignment

1. Watch the following 10-minute video.
2. Consider starting your 500 Days with a prayer, or if you don’t pray, consider starting with a contemplative intention. What do you hope to get out of these 500 days? What do you hope to realize? What’s the change that you seek? Let your prayer or intention center on your answer to these questions.
3. Read the Introduction to The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI) –
   How This Interpretation Came to Be: The Scribe’s Story.  As you read, look for information that will help you get the most out of your 500 Days with NTI.
