500 Days with NTI ~ Day 180

NTI-The Holy Spirit's Interpretation of the New TestamentDay 180 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):

Read NTI Luke 23 (v1-25).

Tomorrow:

  1. Set a timer for 15-30 minutes and focus on being. Do nothing else. Continue to focus on being for the entire practice period. If you would like to, watch this video as you practice the meditation: Rebirth of Mother Earth
  2. Pay attention to your mind in this way:
    (a) What thoughts do you see that you are willing to let go of? Shift attention away from those thoughts by moving attention to what’s happening now or to your sense of being.
    (b) What thoughts do you see that you are not willing to let go of? Realize those thoughts represent your fear of letting go of deficiency cognition, which is the separate egoic point of view. Just be aware of this. That’s all you are asked to do.

NTI-The Holy Spirit's Interpretation of the New TestamentDay 179 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):

Read NTI Luke 22 (v63-71) to the end of the chapter.

Tomorrow:

    1. Set a timer for 15-30 minutes and practice observing your cognition:
      1. Select someone or something that upset you recently.
      2. Start the timer and hold to the image of that person or thing in your mind, or if you can, look at that person or thing or look at a picture of that person or thing. Continue to look at it in your mind or in actuality for the entire practice period.
      3. Attempt to simply be with that person or thing instead of projecting your false sense of self onto it/him/her. When you notice that you are projecting onto it (or him/her), (1) notice the projection, (2) become the superconductor with the projection, and then (3) return to simply being with it (or him/her).
      4. Continue to do this for the entire practice period.
      5. If you want to, follow this practice with an optional ‘Do Nothing’ meditation.
    2. Pay attention to your mind in this way:
      (a) What thoughts do you see that you are willing to let go of? Shift attention away from those thoughts by moving attention to what’s happening now or to your sense of being.
      (b) What thoughts do you see that you are not willing to let go of? Notice those thoughts and say: This thought has no meaning in reality. By holding onto it, I limit myself to deficiency cognition, which is illusion.

Read NTI Luke 22 (v39-46) thru (v54-62).

Tomorrow:

  1. Set a timer for 15-30 minutes and practice observing your cognition:
    1. Select someone or something that is a problem in your life.
    2. Start the timer and hold to the image of that person or thing in your mind, or if you can, look at that person or thing or look at a picture of that person or thing. Continue to look at it in your mind or in actuality for the entire practice period.
    3. Attempt to simply be with that person or thing instead of projecting your false sense of self onto it/him/her. When you notice that you are projecting onto it (or him/her), (1) notice the projection, (2) become the superconductor with the projection, and then (3) return to simply being with it (or him/her).
    4. Continue to do this for the entire practice period.
    5. If you want to, follow this practice with an optional ‘Do Nothing’ meditation.
  2. When you notice you are daydreaming or absorbed in mind-wandering, pause and look at the story in the mind:
    ~ Notice the story is imagination, even if it is related to a real event.
    ~ Say to yourself: I am willing to let go of imagining so I may realize truth.
    ~ Shift your attention to what’s happening in the present moment, or if you are doing nothing, focus on your sense of being.

  1. Set a timer for 15-30 minutes and practice observing your cognition:
    1. Select someone or something that is important in your life.
    2. Start the timer and hold to the image of that person or thing in your mind, or if you can, look at that person or thing or look at a picture of that person or thing. Continue to look at it in your mind or in actuality for the entire practice period.
    3. Attempt to simply be with that person or thing instead of projecting your false sense of self onto it/him/her. When you notice that you are projecting onto it (or him/her), (1) notice the projection, (2) become the superconductor with the projection, and then (3) return to simply being with it (or him/her).
    4. Continue to do this for the entire practice period.
    5. If you want to, follow this practice with an optional ‘Do Nothing’ meditation.

    1. Select someone or something that you do not like.
    2. Start the timer and hold to the image of that person or thing in your mind, or if you can, look at that person or thing or look at a picture of that person or thing. Continue to look at it in your mind or in actuality for the entire practice period.
    3. Attempt to simply be with that person or thing instead of projecting your false sense of self onto it/him/her. When you notice that you are projecting onto it (or him/her), (1) notice the projection, (2) become the superconductor with the projection, and then (3) return to simply being with it (or him/her).
    4. Continue to do this for the entire practice period.
    5. If you want to, follow this practice with an optional ‘Do Nothing’ meditation.
  2. Take eight 2-minute breaks throughout the day, and say this to yourself: The Spirit of God is One. Nothing exists that is not within the Spirit of God. I exist, and so I must be within the Spirit of God. That which is within the Spirit of God is the Spirit of God. I cannot be separate from the Spirit of God.

  1. Review How Your Mind Distorts Reality from 5:00 minutes to 10:55 minutes.
  2. Read NTI Luke 20 (v20-26) to the end of the chapter.

Tomorrow:

  1. Set a timer for 15-30 minutes and practice observing your cognition. Notice the new instructions below:
    1. Select someone or something that you love.
    2. Start the timer and hold to the image of that person or thing in your mind, or if you can, look at that person or thing or look at a picture of that person or thing. Continue to look at it in your mind or in actuality for the entire practice period.
    3. Attempt to simply be with that person or thing instead of projecting your false sense of self onto it/him/her. When you notice that you are projecting onto it (or him/her), (1) notice the projection, (2) become the superconductor with the projection, and then (3) return to simply being with it (or him/her).
    4. Continue to do this for the entire practice period.
    5. If you want to, follow this practice with an optional ‘Do Nothing’ meditation.
  2. Whenever you are upset to any degree, look to see what you wanted from the situation. After looking to see what you wanted, say this to yourself: I am willing to simply be instead of judging with my preferences and concepts, because being is God’s gift; preferences and concepts are what I added to God’s gift.
  3. Take two 5-minute breaks to sit quietly, simply be and notice your beingness.

    2. Start the timer and hold to the image of that person or thing in your mind, or if you can, look at that person or thing or look at a picture of that person or thing. Continue to look at it in your mind or in actuality for the entire practice period.
    3. During the practice period, notice what this person or thing means for you.
    4. Continue to do this for the entire practice period. You are simply noticing what you have projected onto the person or thing. There is nothing else to do during this practice session.
    5. If you want to, follow this practice with an optional ‘Do Nothing’ meditation.
  2. Whenever you are upset to any degree, look to see what you wanted from the situation. After looking to see what you wanted from the situation, say this to yourself: I am willing to see clearly, without seeing through a false perception of myself and without seeing through a self-agenda.

    3. During the practice period, notice what this person or thing means for you.
    4. Continue to do this for the entire practice period. You are simply noticing what you have projected onto the person or thing. There is nothing else to do during this practice session.
    5. If you want to, follow this practice with an optional ‘Do Nothing’ meditation.
  2. Whenever you are upset to any degree, look to see what you wanted from the situation. After looking to see what you wanted from the situation, say this to yourself: My definition of myself includes preferences, judgments and concepts. I have projected my definition of myself onto this (or him/her), and that’s why I am upset.
  3. Take two 5-minute breaks to sit quietly and hold a general sense of gratitude. If you need something to feel grateful for, feel grateful for being/existing.
