Free Guy is a 2021 action film starring the ever-delightful Ryan Reynolds playing Guy (“Blue Shirt Guy”). Guy is an “NPC, ”a non-playable character in a video game, who realizes and lives his True Nature as Love.

It would be wonderful to have you with us for our movie watchers discussion group. Here’s how it works: Watch the film on your own, then tune in on the last Sunday in April to share your insights and hear the insights of others on the film Free Guy.

Witness Guy opening beyond his programming and becoming increasingly curious, filling with a deep sense of love and wonder, accompanied by an emerging awareness of something greater. He begins exercising the ability to choose something different than his programming… expanding…stepping outside the box…and, along the way, affecting not only himself, but everyone around him.

Themes such as the ages-old identity question, “What exactly am I?” “What is awareness?” “What is the phenomenal world?” and, “What is possible?” are explored.

As Guy fearlessly embarks on being his True Self (Love), and naturally extending love, he returns over and over to his programmed conditioning, yet still remembering something so powerful.

The film includes many more themes than mentioned here. It addresses what can happen when the creative impulse is transmuted through the egoic filter. Witness the innocent, yet painful, egoic-hunger for validation due to not remembering what we are already…which is already and always unimaginably whole, perfect, complete and inherently valuable.

Observe a being who longs to be seen and validated by the “bigger ego,” believing that this mixed-up kind of validation is where happiness “is.” The film is also a beautiful example of an innocent, yet ego-identified being becoming vicious when its personal kingdom feels threatened, which is a call for Love by a soul in who cherishes the egoic wish and is not yet interested in awakening to Oneness, our Divine nature. Witness how the ego listening being responds to life and how Love responds to life.

The Minister Preparation Program (MPP) Course Schedule for 2025-2027
Officially Begins!!!!

MPP classes will be held in Zoom on Saturdays from 10am-12pm ET. 

Awakening Together’s Minister Preparation Program (MPP) begins with the free two-hour class, Introduction to the Minister Preparation Program.

This two-hour class will be available via Zoom on Saturday, May 10th from 10am-12pm ET and will be facilitated by Rev. Dianne Scott. You will receive a participant guide shortly after you register and can bring any questions to the Zoom class. 

Introduction to MPP  must be completed before you can be accepted into MPP.  You will have two weeks after this class to determine whether you would like to apply for MPP. The purpose of this class is to teach those who feel they may be interested in becoming an Awakening Together minister about Awakening Together, the Minister Preparation Program and the responsibilities of an Awakening Together minister.

If, after completing this class, you feel you want to become an Awakening Together minister, you may apply to join the Minister Preparation Program. In order to be accepted into MPP, you must be a member of Awakening Together. If you are not a member but you are interested in being an Awakening Together minister, you can learn about membership here.

If you would like to take MPP courses but are not interested in becoming an Awakening Together minister, you do not have to take the introductory course or be accepted into the MPP program, although those who wish to become a minister will have priority for available classes.

However, the average westerner today doesn’t seem to have that option. We have families, jobs, and other commitments, which keep us living as “householders” in a modern world.

At this retreat, you will learn skills that will help you to awaken right where you are—at home!  Sharpen meditation, contemplation, inquiry, journaling and mind-watching skills in this ‘less talk, more practice’ retreat facilitated by Cyndi Krupp.

🌊 Entering The Stream: Contemplating The Spiritual Technology of Dyad Retreats*

The purpose of an Intensive Self-Inquiry Dyad Retreat is “kensho”, a term used in Zen which literally translates to “knowing who you really are.” All participants join in this common goal, explicitly stated as, “the intention to have a direct and conscious experience of the truth of who I am.“

While this intention is stated in terms of experience, what is actually available is a shift in awareness, a transformation of perception such that the way we relate to all experiences shifts.  Said another way, experiences come and go, this shift does not.

The Buddha appears to have guided students in similar investigations as those undertaken in dyad retreats to help them realize what he called, “Entering the Stream.”  In this program, we will contemplate the process by which “Entering the Stream” happens, what it actually entails, how to facilitate its emergence, and what it offers on-goingly.

Whether you are a regular devotee of the dyad process or have no idea what that even means, if “Entering the Stream” resonates with you, you are warmly invited to come explore with Kate Brennan, Rhoda Makled and Anne Blanchard weekly from 2:00 to 3:00  pm ET/ 12-1 pm MT on Tuesdays. 🌀 All are welcome

Here is some information about Unmani:
Meeting with Unmani is meeting with yourself in the most real and alive way. Unmani is originally from the UK, but has lived in many countries around the world. Since she was a child, Unmani didn’t identify with being a separate individual, but assumed there was something wrong with her, until she came across the expression of Satsang and nonduality. Truth has always been her passion. Unmani had teachers including Osho, Dolano, Nathan Gill, Tony Parsons, Gangaji and several other amazing people who are not considered ‘teachers’.

In 2013 she met her husband, the wonderful musician, and courageous lover of life, Robert Hanuman. In 2015 their son, Sky, was born. On 3rd January 2018, Robert Hanuman died suddenly from a heart attack while they were in India. Robert Hanuman’s presence deeply influenced Unmani’s teaching, and in the time they were together it evolved into a more human expression of the courage to live the paradox of the Absolute, living as this human. Robert put Unmani’s words to his beautiful classical guitar music and Unmani still plays his songs at her meetings.

Unmani has been holding meetings and retreats all over the world for since 2003, and in this time people have been deeply touched by her work: She meets each person exactly where they are at, and in whatever they need at the time, while at the same time holding them in the truth of who they really are beyond it all. This combination, and paradox, of the personal and impersonal, brings so much depth, openness and healing to people’s lives. They wake up to who they really are, and discover how this is lived and integrated into their daily lives.
