ACIM Manual For Teachers — Section 4.9: Faithfulness

November 25, 2024

Faithfulness

Listen to Mediation Recording.

Excerpt from the reading:

”The extent of the teacher of God’s faithfulness is the measure of his advancement in the curriculum. ²Does he still select some aspects of his life to bring to his learning, while keeping others apart? ³If so, his advancement is limited, and his trust not yet firmly established. ⁴Faithfulness is the teacher of God’s trust in the Word of God to set all things right; not just some things, but all things.”

Excerpt from the contemplation:

“I like the reminder in this section to simply look and see as I go through the day to see if there is any aspect of life which is kept apart from faithfulness in Oneness, and if there is some found, to not be judgmental of it , but to just look at it with curiosity as to the why? What is it that is valued more?  And through looking I can become clear on what it is I truly want. So part of this faithfulness is the looking for beliefs. Faithfulness is the teachers of God’s trust in the word of God that we are not separate but One Being-ness. Trusting either from devotion or from our own experience or from a combination of the two.  And I like the reminder that Jesus has been telling us all throughout this book which is to set all things right consistently, not some, but all.”

ACIM Manual For Teachers — Section 4.8: Patience

November 24, 2024

Patience

Listen to Mediation Recording.

Jesus says that Trust is the bedrock of characteristics. Trusting that you are what you are is critical. The spending of time with seeing what you are from your own experience is very important to this step of Patience.  When we fall into impatience it’s because we have forgotten who we are, we have become confused about the I Am that we think we are. If you are confused about what you are, you have no trust in what you are, then you won’t be able to be consistent about the outcome.  If you are interested in diving deeply into Self-Inquiry as per Sri Ramana Maharshi I can point you to some resources. Reach out in the forum and we can investigate that together.

An excerpt from the Reading:

“Those who are certain of the outcome can afford to wait, and wait without anxiety. Patience is natural to the teacher of God. All he sees is certain outcome, at a time perhaps unknown to him as yet, but not in doubt. The time will be as right as is the answer. And this is true for everything that happens now or in the future. The past as well held no mistakes; nothing that did not serve to benefit the world, as well as him to whom it seemed to happen. Perhaps it was not understood at the time. Even so, the teacher of God is willing to reconsider all his past decisions, if they are causing pain to anyone. Patience is natural to those who trust. Sure of the ultimate interpretation of all things in time, no outcome already seen or yet to come can cause them fear.”

FINAL PROGRAM ~ Contemplating Poetry Using Lectio Divina with Rev. Susan Telford ~ 11-24-24

November 24, 2024

This is the final installment of Contemplating Poetry Using Lectio Divina.

Rev. Susan Telford guides us in learning the contemplative practice of Lectio Divina using poetry.

In each session, Rev. Susan reads a poem, drawing from a wide range of poets, including Rumi, Hafiz, David Whyte, Mary Oliver, John O’Donohue, and many others (including her own work), then guides participants through the four steps of Lectio Divina.

Susan shares that this direct practice is a beautiful way to connect with Inner Wisdom and obtain clarity.

*This was a special edition program in honor of our dear Rev. Glenn Ganaway. Glen was a regular attendee for the Lectio sessions and his spouse, Rev. Yolanda Mapes shared three of Glen’s favorite Rumi poems which were contemplated during this program.

Closing Soon ~ Pray Without Ceasing: Dec 2-6

November 23, 2024

Pray Without Ceasing

An Online Retreat

December 2-6

with Anne Blanchard

Ramana Maharshi observed there were two primary paths to Self-Realization; the first being the path of wisdom or self-inquiry and the second being the path of devotion.  In this retreat, we will take a deep dive into the second path, which has been called the way of the heart.   Participants will contemplate what it means to pray, to whom or to what do we pray, and most importantly, how to cultivate and sustain a deep and enduring regular practice of prayer. Join facilitator Anne Blanchard as she guides participants through an examination of what is required in the devotional pathway and how one’s way of being can become love: a love of Truth and God and a willingness to let go and surrender anything blocking the experience of this love.

Retreat Schedule

The retreat will begin at 10am ET (8am MT) and end at 5pm ET (3pm MT) each day. A 2-hour lunch period will be provided beginning about 1pm ET (11am MT).

Retreat Fee is $300

$50 non-refundable deposit is required

REGISTRATION CLOSED

Registration Closes on November 30th at 5pm ET

ACIM Manual For Teachers — Section 4.7: Generosity

November 23, 2024

Generosity

Listen to Mediation Recording.

This section is very thought provoking. Jesus explains the term generosity has special meaning to the teacher of God. It is not the usual meaning of the word; in fact, it is a meaning that must be learned and learned very carefully. Like all the other attributes of God’s teachers this one rests ultimately on trust, for without trust no one can be generous in the true sense. To the world, generosity means “giving away” in the sense of “giving up.” To the teachers of God, it means giving away in order to keep. This has been emphasized throughout the text and the workbook, but it is perhaps more alien to the thinking of the world than many other ideas in our curriculum. Its greater strangeness lies merely in the obviousness of its reversal of the world’s thinking. In the clearest way possible, and at the simplest of levels, the word means the exact opposite to the teachers of God and to the world.

One of the things I came to see from contemplating this section was shared like this: “Forgiveness is the generosity of seeing the truth of what everything is.  And so forgiving another, seeing the truth of what they are, and forgiving yourself is seeing the truth of what you are, that we are.  All this is generosity.”
