You will discover the sweet richness that is revealed when you give the truth your undivided attention.

 

Nirmala’s Invitation
Nirmala invites questions and suggestions for topics we can explore together in these online meetings, as he wants these gatherings to serve you in the most direct ways possible. Satsang is for you and so he invites you to make it your own by asking your questions. Our Member Board of Trustees and Board of Directors have nominated and elected Rev. Sherry Daves to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is our senior board, which overseas the operation of the Member Board of Trustees. The Board of Directors is also responsible for approving Policies & Procedures, for hiring employees and for Awakening Together’s Budget.

Sherry’s journey on the path to remembering her connection to Spirit within began with ACIM in 1999; however, like the story is told so many times, that book got shelved for about ten years when she couldn’t wrap her head around it intellectually. When the book came back into her life again, this time it spoke directly to the heart and spurred a life-long passion and commitment to depth of knowing the inner Divine. Yoga practice, the study of NTI and other Eastern spiritual philosophies have helped deepen her spiritual commitment. She has been a practicing attorney for 25 years, with most of that time dedicated to financial reorganizations and, more recently, assisting nonprofits and grant-writing. She has assisted in organizing spiritual retreats and has been an Awakening Together ordained minister since 2016.

Register to Begin the Minister Preparation Program (MPP) – Classes Begin This Month

Introduction to the Minister Preparation Program is a free 2-hour class and the first class in Awakening Together’s Minister Preparation Program (MPP).

Introduction to MPP is available to all members and must be completed before a member applies for acceptance to MPP.  The purpose of this class is to teach those who feel they may be interested in becoming an Awakening Together minister about Awakening Together, the Minister Preparation Program and the responsibilities of an Awakening Together minister. If, after completing this two-hour course, a member feels s/he wants to become an Awakening Together minister, that member may apply to join the Minister Preparation Program. If you are not a member but you are interested in being an Awakening Together minister, you can become a member now.

Members who complete Introduction to MPP and apply for MPP will be invited to take
True Discernment. That course will be offered on:

Thursday evenings, 8:30pm-10:30pm ET, April 6 – June 15, 2016

Note: If you complete Intro to MPP and you are not interested in being an Awakening Together minister, but you are interested in taking True Discernment, you will be able to take True Discernment if it is not filled by MPP participants.

Not Too Late to Watch This Month’s Movie, Temple Grandin for Movie Watchers Group on Sunday February 26, 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT

Temple Grandin Join us for Movie Watcher’s  Group on Sunday, February 26  at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT.   This month’s movie is “Temple Grandin”, The film follows Temple Grandin’s life through a series of flashbacks. As a child, Grandin (Danes) is uncommunicative and prone to tantrums and is diagnosed with autism. The medical consensus at that time was that autism is a form of schizophrenia resulting from insufficient maternal affection. Despite recommendations to place her in an institution, Grandin’s mother (Ormond) hires therapists and works to help her daughter adapt to social interaction.

The movie is available on most provider sites including HBO, Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Google Play, etc.  Watch the movie with Spirit, then come and share your insights with the group.  Guided movie watching allows us to experience our world and practice forgiveness without leaving our living room!  It is recommended you join with Spirit in meditation or prayer prior to viewing the movie and then journal after.  Watch for common themes, for characters you like or don’t like, for situations that seem to cause discomfort or joy.  Contemplate what your reactions to the movie tell you about your beliefs about yourself and the world you live in.  Bring what you learn back to the group and learn from others’ movie watching experience as well.  Enjoy the movie and don’t forget to watch your mind!

As the heart awakens, it sees the world and itself as united and undivided, birthing compassion for all of life. With the awakening of the body, form knows itself to be God, and that “all this is That”.

Each week we will focus on a particular aspect of consciousness waking up to itself. The final session will be focused on living a life of integrated spirit and form.
