From Alamosa or Durango, CO – Drive east on Hwy 160. After passing through Fort Garland, you will drive over the La Veta pass. After descending from the La Veta pass, watch for Hwy 12 (Highway of Legends). Turn right on Hwy 12 and drive 5 miles to La Veta. In La Veta, turn left on Francisco St. Go to the end of the road and follow the sharp bend to the right. At the next corner, turn right again. There we are!
From Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Denver and points north – Drive south on I-25 to exit 52 in Walsenburg. In downtown Walsenburg, turn right onto Hwy 160. Drive about 10 miles to Hwy 12 (Highway of Legends). Turn left on Hwy 12 and drive 5 miles to La Veta. In La Veta, turn left on Francisco St. Go to the end of the follow the sharp bend to the right. At the next corner, turn right again. There we are!
From Albuquerque, Santa Fe and points south – Drive north on I-25 to exit 49 in Walsenburg. In downtown Walsenburg, turn left onto Hwy 160. Drive about 10 miles to Hwy 12 (Highway of Legends). Turn left on Hwy 12 and drive 5 miles to La Veta. In La Veta, turn left on Francisco St. Go to the end of the road and follow the sharp bend to the right. At the next corner, turn right again. There we are!
Here’s a map of La Veta. Please note that the red balloon is a little too far to the left. Our house is closer to the lake than shown here. There are two houses on this section of Field Avenue. There is a sign in front of the Retreat House that says, “Awakening Together Retreat House”. Please note, Field Avenue is not a through-street from Main Street. That’s why we ask you to take Francisco from Main.
