Title: “Love’s Inner Awakening”

Description: Rev. Billy will share his personal evolution, drawing inspiration from Thomas Merton’s writings and the teachings of contemporary guru Mooji Baba. This exploration will begin with a reading of a Rumi poem by Joseph Schmitz. Billy’s journey reflects a shift towards a contemplative lifestyle, characterized by discernment and the concept of interdependent co-arising. It involves a conscious letting go of false beliefs and personal identity, adopting the role of an impartial observer rather than an active participant in life’s drama. This transformation is not learned but occurs naturally through the recognition and rejection of falsehood, allowing one to remain as a detached witness revealing that unchanging essence: the awakening of awareness.

Contemplating Poetry Using Lectio Divina with Rev. Susan Telford ~ 02-04-24

Rev. Susan Telford guides us in learning the contemplative practice of Lectio Divina using poetry.

In each session, Rev. Susan reads a poem, drawing from a wide range of poets, including Rumi, Hafiz, David Whyte, Mary Oliver, John O’Donohue, and many others (including her own work), then guides participants through the four steps of Lectio Divina.

Susan shares that this direct practice is a beautiful way to connect with Inner Wisdom and obtain clarity.

Seven Steps Journal: Out of the Stillness ~ The Magic in the Gap (Step Two)

Have you ever wanted to see inside someone else’s mind and heart as they journeyed toward spiritual awakening? Have you ever wondered what obstacles they faced, what inquiries they used, or what insights they experienced? If so, this program is perfect for you. Each week, Regina Dawn Akers shares from her published journal, Out of the Stillness. It was written as a personal journal over 8½ years as she contemplated quotes from spiritual masters and practiced the insight she realized through contemplation. The quotes Regina contemplated were collected by Michael Langford and published in The Seven Steps to Awakening. Both books are used in this program.

Join Us for Sounds of Awakening on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, 8pm EST

Join us Sunday, February 11th, 2024, from 8-9 pm ET/6-7 pm MT for the next installment of the musical Awakening Together program, Sounds of Awakening hosted by Rev. Yolanda Mapes where she will interview Carla Lynne Hall and Jim Keyes.

Carla Lynne Hall and Jim Keyes began performing and writing music together in 2016. Soon after they found themselves providing music for Sunday services, wedding ceremonies, and memorial services.

Over time, their musical partnership developed into a romance, and in late 2019 were married. When the pandemic hit, they were approached by churches and spiritual centers that needed music for their online remote services. It was then that they realized the need for music of hope, healing, and inspiration. Known as “Carla & Keyes”, Carla Lynne Hall and Jim Keyes are a performing duo based in Ossining, New York.

Rev. Yolanda is a trans femme gender queer singer/songwriter/performance artist & interfaith minister, originally from Muscle Shoals, Alabama- The Hit Recording Capital of the World. Rev. Yolanda has been making music/theater/TV/film/performance art for well over 40 years, winning the NYC MAC Award twice and inducted into both the NY Blues Hall of Fame and The GLBT Hall of Fame.

Yolanda went to One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in NYC (2009-2011) and graduated as Rev. Yolanda. After graduation, Rev. Yolanda and her husband Rev. Glen founded the “spiritual happening” called Church With A 2 Drink Minimum in NYC. Rev. Yolanda is also a founding member of NYC-based organization, Drag Story Hour NYC. Her most recent projects during the Pandemic years are Sounds of Awakening-an inspirational music program hosted by Awakening-Together.org,  “YolandaNanda” a cd, based on her love for mantras, and “YolandaNanda 2” in development as of 2024.

Rev. Rhoda will dig into topics she is exploring in her life such as what it means to live the experiment of being surrendered. Feeling every feeling and seeing every thought she can, Rhoda will share the journey of studying, journaling, contemplating, being inspired by, and surrendering to Truth. Inspired by so many teachers including those here at Awakening Together, Rhoda will share her contemplations and invites you to come and discuss your experience with your own surrender experiment. This undefended dialogue with Inner Wisdom is just one more way to observe as the self is undone–the intention being to leave space only for awareness of Awareness and release everything that covers Truth.

In this program, Rev. Rhoda will explore the teachings of Michael Singer, Regina Dawn Akers, Paul Hedderman, Roger Castillo, Helen Hamilton, and many more.

Keith first heard of A Course In Miracles 30 years ago in a talk by Wayne Dyer where the Course was quoted and he has been reading it ever since. Life took a turn just over a decade ago when a crippling Generalized Anxiety Disorder took hold of his life for 8 years, effectively reducing it to a half-life. It culminated in a rock bottom point of readiness to devote himself to the Course in earnest.

Through his devoted practice, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder disappeared and he started having awakening and Oneness experiences. Keith was asked to share his experience in two podcast talks and from that, there was a large number of requests for more teachings.

This was to birth the “A Course In Miracles with Keith” Facebook group, Zoom Meetings, YouTube Channel, Podcast, and, eventually, private mentoring.

For those who are eager to join for the live Satsang, Julie Butler and Anja Janssen will be interviewing Keith:

Rev. Jacquelyn & Connie – Early Insights, “Stillness Solves Every Problem Now”

Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert and Connie Poole play Regina Dawn Akers’ Early Teaching videos and invite those in attendance to contemplate those teachings along with them.

Because these teachings are so helpful, Jacquelyn and Connie plan to slowly review them by playing one or two of them each week and contemplating them in a group format.
