Following the recent online retreat participants shared their experiences from the Loving Consciousness, Loving All retreat. During this retreat, the participants learned how to deepen into these two core practices. In this reflections program, the retreatants shared about the topics of non-attachment, the true meaning of love, and how attending this specific retreat is enriching their meditation journey and their innate ability to Love it ALL.

Rev. Yolanda’s guest Rev. Chanda Rule will be back with us for a second time. Rev. Chanda is a singer and songwriter with flavors of jazz in her music and vocals. Chanda Rule has been weaving stories through song since her childhood. Gracefully mesmerizing audiences nationally and internationally.

Chanda’s genre-defying voice has been featured in a variety of musical projects: from her latest album “Sapphire Dreams” recorded with the legendary pianist Kirk Lightsey, “Feeling Good: A Tribute to Nina Simone”, where she sang alongside sax powerhouse Donny McCaslin, to being featured in Cicily Janus’ book The New Face of Jazz (Billboard Books). Chanda has also performed as an opening act for India Arie, Angela Bofill, Regina Belle & The Whispers.

Rev. Chanda is also a published writer, podcast host, and storyteller who uses narrative and music for community building and communal healing. Chanda is the bestselling author of the children’s book How Butterfly Got Her Beautiful Wings and can be heard biweekly on her podcast, The Courageous Voice.

Rev. Yolanda has been making music/theater/TV/film/performance art for well over 35 years, winning the NYC MAC Award twice and inducted into both the NY Blues Hall of Fame and The GLBT Hall of Fame. Rev. Yolanda has recorded 9 albums of original music throughout the years and is very excited to announce that she will start her newest and 10th recording of original music called YolandaNanda 2 on April 15, 2023.

YolandaNanda 2 will incorporate Sanskrit Mantra, A Course In Miracles lessons, The Radiance Sutras and personal storytelling in a musical groove salad of gospel pop and chill ambient. Join Awakening Together’s founder, Regina Dawn Akers, for a 4-day Satsang at our Retreat House in La Veta, Colorado. Each morning, we will sit in meditation and discussion with Regina from 9am until noon. Lunch will be served at noon. After lunch, enjoy free time on your own, with friends, or possibly with Regina. Satsang will start again at 4pm and go until 6pm. Satsang topics will be inspired and spontaneous.

There will also be opportunity for open question and answer periods. The purpose of Satsang is to help you take your next step with God, whatever that next step may be.

The retreat will begin on Monday at 9am and end at 6pm on Thursday.

Each week, Regina Dawn Akers shares from her published journal, Out of the Stillness. It was written as a personal journal over 8½ years as she contemplated quotes from spiritual masters and practiced the insight she realized through contemplation. The quotes Regina contemplated were collected by Michael Langford and published in The Seven Steps to Awakening. Both books are used in this program.

500 Days Contemplating NTI ~ Days 94-108

Revs. Joanne Schneider, Rhoda Makled, and Kelly Barber host the program on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 7:30 – 8:30 pm ET.

In this program, we engage in and discuss the 500 Days with NTI program designed by our founder and the scribe of The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI), Regina Dawn Akers. Regina developed this free self-study spiritual curriculum for people with very busy lives. If you don’t have a lot of available time, but you are serious about spiritual awakening, this may be the curriculum for you!

500 Days provides daily exercises that you can do as you work, socialize, clean house, do yard work, work out, play, etc. It’s a course that goes with you wherever you go!

Rev. Jacquelyn & Connie – Early Insights, “What is True Confession?”

Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert and Connie Poole play Regina Dawn Akers’ Early Teaching videos and invite those in attendance to contemplate those teachings along with them.

Because these teachings are so helpful, Jacquelyn and Connie plan to slowly review them by playing one or two of them each week and contemplating them in a group format.
