Day 470 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):

Read NTI Revelation 9 in full.

Tomorrow:

  1. Set a timer for the amount of time you want to meditate, and then meditate with this Awareness-Watching-Awareness audio.
  2. Contemplate lesson #3 from NTI Revelation 7. Write what comes to you as you contemplate it.
  3. Realize there are false beliefs in your mind, which color how you see yourself and the world. The ‘king’ of these false beliefs is the belief you are a person. Take a few minutes to give willingness for these beliefs to be exposed to awareness so they can be healed.

Susan Telford explores how the Light never stops calling us back to the remembrance of who we really are and how, as in her own life, that can look like Fierce Grace. But as the Easter story reminds us the Fierce Grace of the crucifixion is followed by the joyful cry, Christ is Risen!

This month’s Satsang will be with Cay Villars who will be interviewed by Laura Bedford. Cay is a mystic in full devotion to following the Voice of Jesus in the continual celebration of inner Light. Some call this Enlightenment or Union with God. She is called the “laughing mystic” for the joy and sense of humor expressed in Satsang/Joining in Light Sessions.

She began hearing a Voice while volunteering as a behavioral change coach in prisons for men and women in Wisconsin. While studying A Course in Miracles (ACIM) she experienced mystical visions in which Jesus appeared. In the first vision, he gave her the blue Joining in Light image, a symbol of the healing power of joining to quickly release upsets and thus celebrate shared Light within. Jesus taught her to hear and follow His Voice through assignments in India, Portugal, Europe, Mexico, Bali, and Jerusalem.

Her “storyline in the world” included executive coaching, management, marketing, intuitive healer, and scientist, which led to the realization that there is no storyline of more value than the happiness of Divine Being in celebration of all the Love there is.

The symbols of Joining in Light in the form of Light Circles and Jesus: A New Covenant ACIM, a message to ACIM Students JANC ACIM) were extended to Cay in mystical visions and conversations with Jesus–the Voice for God. Yet this is only a reminder that this Voice is available to everyone as everyone is Light, the Light of Love within. JANC ACIM is a message of encouragement to all ACIM students and students of non-duality that Jesus is available to directly support them fully in their path to Enlightenment.

Cay extends Jesus’ teachings that everyone can hear and follow Jesus/the Voice for God as a means to Enlightenment, the complete undoing of the ego to transcend all pain, illness, and suffering of the world. This is the joy and peace that surpasses understanding.

She is the Director of the Joining in Light Silent Devotional Center.  The Center is a 501c3 nonprofit devoted to the mystical teachings of Jesus for the release of hidden desires for pain and suffering.  The Center offers daily zoom joining sessions, a phone app, online programs, and in residency Light training programs hearing the Voice for God and quickly releasing hidden subconscious desires to deny Divinity.

Seeking Understanding or Avoiding Discomfort? ~ by Liz Cronkhite

It seems to me that in the past decade or so, due to the further proliferation of information on the internet through social media, many A Course in Miracles students have become what I call nonduality generalists. They may or may not consider the Course their primary path but having come to see the similarities in all nondual teachings, they pursue nondual ideas wherever they find them.

It can be helpful to read the same thing in different ways, especially when ideas are new to you. Sometimes what you cannot understand from one turn of phrase you understand from another. Many don’t realize that the Course itself says the same thing over and over until they have studied it for a while. What seemed a complicated teaching at first turns out to be very simple.

But the Course is dense and difficult for many to understand. For new students, it can be helpful to read the same thing in different words and symbols and come back to the Course with eyes opened.

And whether you study one teaching or many, eventually with understanding comes fewer pleasurable a-ha moments. This is when some students begin to roam, not so much for further understanding and knowledge, but to have again the pleasurable sensation of the a-ha. New teachings and new teachers can be exciting. They and their approach are novel and refreshing, and they may say things that illuminate your mind delightfully. I hear things like, “I used to follow Teacher A, but they don’t work for me so much anymore. Now I’m listening to Teacher Q.” I have come to hear of so many teachers from so many nonduality approaches that I wonder if many nonduality generalists are caught up seeking a sensation when instead they could simply sit quietly with Spirit (Awareness).

Ah! But there’s the rub. Being quiet means being with the chatter of the mind and the uncomfortable feelings of a person. It means facing ego’s resistance to Spirit within, which is never pleasant. It means entering the long, hard slog of spiritual practice, the part without the excitement of the new and the pleasure of the a-ha moment. It is just these things that need to be seen and felt and allowed to pass to get to the awareness of ever-present Peace within you in Spirit, which is so much more than a-ha moments.

If you find you are continually seeking or moving onto the newest thing, check in with yourself. Are you moving toward deeper understanding or running from discomfort? Because in the end, the only Teacher that will bring you the Peace you seek is not in any teaching or human teacher, but past the discomfort within you.
