This was a special edition of Clarifying the Teachings. Regina Dawn Akers couldn’t be with us live so she suggested that we as a group discuss the teachings thus far that she has shared with us. Also, to take this time to see if there are any lingering questions that we still may have and want to present to her on the next installment of the Clarifying the Teachings program. Cyndi Krupp was the facilitator for this group meeting on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
In this program, we watched and discussed a selected TED talk. TED talks follow a unique format. Speakers at TED events have a maximum of 18 minutes to share their messages, which are delivered in highly polished, succinct speeches. TED talks are delivered by people from all walks of life on a multitude of subjects. A great many of these talks are about the insights gained by ordinary people–insights gained through extraordinary experiences or based on their contemplation of the ordinary events of their lives. Either way, their insights are genuine—not based upon theory or dogma, but through experience.

A staunch social change agent, Deborah Johnson is a successful litigant in two landmark cases including one that set precedence for the inclusion of sexual orientation in California’s Civil Rights Bill in 1984. Training, consulting, convening, and facilitating for groups large and small, her clients have included Hewlett Packard, The Ford Foundation, University of California, AT&T, Kaiser Permanente, Eastman Kodak, SBC Communications, Center For Disease Control, MCA Universal, and Centers for Spiritual Living.
