October 8, 2020

Join us at 10:15 am ET/ 8:15 am MT for Our Weekly Sunday Gathering with Rev. Kelly Barber

Title: “In the meantime. How to respond to the frustrations of purification.”

Description: Rev. Kelly will be sharing on how it has been for her navigating in the space between before one has fully awakened. Also, how remembering who we are and being identified once again with who we are not, can be a frustrating part of the spiritual path and that the purification process is tedious at times and yet, so worth it. She will also attempt to share some insights and tools that have helped her along the way.

Reading: Rev .Wanda Almonte will read Chapter 3, “Who Are You?” from The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer.

*Weekly gathering is held every Sunday morning at 10:15 am ET/8:15 am MT in the Awakening Together Sanctuary. Join us after the Gathering for our Fellowship Time, hosted by Rev. George Maddox.

Enter Sanctuary Here.

Join us at 1:30 pm ET/ 11:30 am MT for Freedom Practice Sangha

Following the recent Awakening Together online retreats it has become clear that many feel called to dive into intensive follow-up work. While the practice of unearthing and looking directly at our individual beliefs is primarily solitary in nature, we all recognize that the sharing of that work with others who are undergoing the same process can be enormously beneficial and supportive. This will be a time of sharing our inquiries, insights and challenges, listening to others, or just knowing that we are in community as we find that undefended place within ourselves that longs to be free. This program will be facilitated by Anne Blanchard. She also will be acting as admin since this is the time the Sanctuary Director normally takes a break.

Join us at 6:00 pm ET/ 4:00 pm MT for Something Genuine with Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert

Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert facilitates this program, in which Awakening Together members and friends join together to watch and discuss TED talks that reveal the Truth of ourselves and our universe based on the actual experience of ordinary people. Their insights are genuine—not based upon theory or dogma—and give us a “man on the street” perspective on what we are coming to learn through Awakening Together.

Regina Dawn Akers OutsideJoin us at 7:00 pm ET/ 5:00 pm MT for The Guiding Light with Rev. Regina Dawn Akers

Regina Dawn Akers reads selections from the book Perfect Brilliant Stillness by David Carse. The purpose of this inspired book study is to learn to stop focusing on words and concepts. Look where the pointers point! Be still and realize Perfect Brilliant Stillness just as it is. Join Regina as she dives deep into this enlightened book study which isn’t a book study at all! Here’s a link to the book here: Get the book for free

Join us at 9:00 pm ET/ 7:00 pm MT for Dissolving the Ego with Sharon Slyter & Michael DeForbes

Sharon and Michael will be sharing from Helen Hamilton’s teachings and books. They will be exploring deeply what it means to dissolve the ego and see all as the already Aware/Self. Join in and listen to the deep teachings of the Northern Guru Helen Hamilton. All are welcome!

Remember! New Program with Helen Hamilton Begins Oct. 14, 3 – 4 pm ET

October 8, 2020

Awakening Together is delighted to announce our new program, “In the Company of Truth with Helen Hamilton.” Helen will hold Satsang in this bi-weekly program beginning Wednesday, October 14, 3:00-4:00 pm ET. Plan to join us the second and fourth Wednesday of each month as Helen demonstrates and teaches the simplicity of Self Realization.

If you consider yourself a disciple of truth and find that your soul longs for total liberation then you are among good company here. If you feel a call in your heart to wake up fully to the truth of your Being and to live as that then this program is for you.

Helen’s core message is that the Realization of the True Self is possible for everyone, no matter what background you may have as long as you want it more than anything else. After all, we are only returning to our natural state, to what we already are. We are only coming to live as that Truth consciously. How long does it take to be what you already are? How difficult does it need to be to rid yourself of illusion that was never true?

Having reached a place of total peace, love and joy, Helen has dedicated her life to helping others wake up too. The Truth is here and now and accessible to all. Helen will offer her teachings in this bi-weekly Satsang to help you Realize and BE the Self you already are.

For more information about Helen and to access her teachings, visit her website: HelenHamilton.org.

Gentle Healing 2 ~ Day 213 – Commentary on Gratitude

October 8, 2020

Please read and contemplate the following commentary in the same way that you read and contemplate the Thought of Awakening. The commentaries are designed to enrich your understanding of the Thoughts of Awakening.

~Commentary on Gratitude ~

What you are is formless. When you look about yourself as you experience yourself now, you see form and you say. “That is not me.” When you look at yourself as you experience yourself now, you see form and you say, “That is me.” But in both cases, you are in error, because what you are is formless, so you cannot be identified by what you see in form.

Gratitude, like you, is formless. It cannot be touched, but it can extend. Gratitude takes that which already is and moves it into new existence and new means of expression and experience. In this way too, gratitude is like you.

To understand what you are, you must drop understanding. But to get a glimpse, look at gratitude. Gratitude is a formless force that is much like you, and gratitude works through love because gratitude works through you.

~From our Holy Spirit

Thoughts of Awakening # 213

Sit in gratitude.
Sit in stillness.
Do not search your mind
to find that which you are grateful for.
Instead, sit in gratitude.
Sit in stillness.

Let gratitude and stillness,
which come from the Heart,
enlighten the mind
with the message of gratitude.

The Heart knows
what you are truly grateful for.
Listen and accept that.

~From our Holy Spirit

Gentle Healing 2 ~ Day 212 – NTI Colossians 1&2

October 7, 2020

NTI Colossians combines the teaching of NTI Ephesians and NTI Philippians, while bringing more clarity to both.

NTI Ephesians taught that you are the process of creation, and your way of being is creative spirit. Whatever you accept as true is given through spirit to all of consciousness and is experienced by consciousness in the Fourth Principle of God, the realm of manifestation.

NTI Philippians taught that your creative spirit isn’t the result of your purpose alone. Your purpose (motive) combined with believing attention (faith) creates the way of being that is creative spirit. NTI Philippians recommended you watch the body to see if the motive and faith it follows is the motive and faith that you want as your creative spirit. It also recommended that you stand firm with the purpose of the Heart.

NTI Colossians points to what we are beyond the creative principle, which is life-awareness. It reminds us that our truth is the truth of everything. It’s not just that I am life-awareness and an insect is life-awareness too. The insect and I are the same  life-awareness.

In other words, NTI Ephesians pointed to the Third Principle of God as what we are. NTI Colossians begins there, and then points directly at the First Principle of God as our actual reality.

To say we are merely the Fourth Principle of God, manifestation, is a mistake. To say we are the Third Principle of God, the creative principle, is more correct. To say we are the Second Principle of God, consciousness, is closer to truth. To say we are the First Principle of God, life-awareness, is truth. To say we are all four principles simultaneously is the essence of truth, since all four principles are made up of the First Principle of God.

In NTI, the First Principle of God is called Life. The Second Principle of God is called spirit. The Third Principle of God is called creation. The Fourth Principle of God is called form. You are all of them, because you are Life, which is the source and the essence of them all.

Wisdom is knowing I am nothing, Love is knowing I am everything, and between the two my life moves. ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj

Thoughts of Awakening # 212

Gratitude is a gift.
It is the natural extension of love.
To love is to extend,
and to be grateful is to love.

Gratitude extends.
It increases.
This is what it does.
So gratitude is your extension of yourself
within all of that which you are.

~From our Holy Spirit

Introducing This Month’s Movie: Cloud Atlas

October 6, 2020

Interesting that this movie’s subtitle is “Everything is connected.”

Part of the fun of the film (starring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry) is watching these tales unravel in unexpected ways. The stories in the movie are: a 19th century racial drama set on the high seas, a 1930’s piece about a composer’s gifted apprentice, a 1970’s conspiracy story being uncovered by an investigative journalist (Halle Berry), a 2012 farce, a sleek sci-fi escape drama set in the 22nd century, and a dystopian journey set in the far future. Every story is compelling.

To keep it simple — if that’s even possible — Cloud Atlas is about the reincarnation of the soul. The film emphasizes the idea that we live different lives in different time periods, but we connect to the same souls over and over again. And with these same souls, we keep repeating history — something journalist Luisa Rey (Halle Berry) mentions at one point — which in Cloud Atlas typically revolves around oppression.

Some souls seem fated to oppress others, or at least to maintain the status quo of oppression, while a few will always be revolutionaries seeking to uncover and broadcast the truth. More importantly, the soul can take its own journey over the course of several lifetimes. For instance, the soul of Hanks’s characters evolve from a murdering thief in one lifetime to a reluctant hero who overcomes obstacles, fear, and prejudice to save someone else.

Each of the six intertwined stories takes place in a different era and assumes the tropes of completely different genres. Actors play multiple roles across the film, switching ages, races, and even genders from tale to tale. So if you find it confusing, here is a link to a site that provides a guide to the characters and their journeys through the story.

Join us for a discussion of this movie on October 25th at 8pm ET/6 pm MT facilitated by Rev. Kelly Barber.

You can find this movie on Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, Amazon Prime.

Gentle Healing 2 ~ Day 211 – Commentary on Desire

October 6, 2020

Please read and contemplate the following commentary in the same way that you read and contemplate the Thought of Awakening. The commentaries are designed to enrich your understanding of the Thoughts of Awakening.

~Commentary on Desire ~

Listening is a habit that is cultivated through desire. By desiring to listen and follow, one begins to listen and follow. Through desiring to listen and follow more, one begins to increase the habit of listening and following.

Desire is worth cultivating. Spending time focusing on one’s desire to listen and follow is helpful to the practice and the habit, because all practice and all habit follows desire.

Remember your desire in the mind. Have gratitude for your desire in the heart. Trust your desire in the moment. All of this will cultivate the desire, and the desire shall blossom into a lovely new habit.

~From our Holy Spirit

Thoughts of Awakening # 211

Listening to the Heart
is not a special talent
that some have and others don’t.
Listening to the Heart
is one talent given to all.

When you hear your brother
speak from his Heart
and you recognize it,
you are listening to yours.

When you hear your brother
speak from his Heart
and you want to follow it,
you are desiring to follow yours.

Recognize the Heart as one Heart,
and be grateful whenever you hear its song.
Through your gratitude for it,
you tune in with it,
and once you are in tune,
you will hear it more.

~From our Holy Spirit
