Registration Closing Soon for the MINSTERS’ WORKSHOP: MPP Facilitator Training

REGISTRATION CLOSES IN ONE WEEK!

We are seeking Awakening Together Ordained Ministers to facilitate courses in our Minister Preparation Program (MPP). Facilitating the MPP courses is an excellent way to review the teachings you learned in these courses. In addition, facilitation helps you deepen in those teachings and into your own spiritual practice. MPP facilitators are also paid for facilitating MPP courses.

In order to become certified to facilitate MPP, ministers must complete our MPP Facilitators Training course. In this course, ministers will be trained and certified to facilitate MPP in both the forum and weekly zoom class meeting formats.

In this class you will learn:

  1. The participant will learn basic facilitation skills.
  2. The participant will practice giving effective feedback.
  3. The participant will learn how to prepare to facilitate each MPP course.

Workshop Dates & Times: Friday, October 4, 2024 through Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET each day

Homework Commitment: Prior to the start of the workshop homework will be assigned which you will be required to prepare and share.  Time commitment is approximately 45-60 minutes per day for 3 days prior to the start of the workshop.

Format: Classes will be held live on Zoom.

Cost: $180

Rev. Dianne Scott guides a group of committed students through year 1 of Gentle Healing who want to make consistent, gentle progress toward genuine peace, joy, and love. This group meets weekly on Tuesdays at 3-5 pm ET/1-3 pm MT. All members are committed to specific assignments and practices between group meetings.

Feeling Called to Share in the Sanctuary? Exciting New Opening Available!

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for our members to teach and share in the Sanctuary on Sundays! Rev. David Hemphill has felt guided to step away from his program, “Contemplations with David,” which is held weekly on Sundays from 6-7pm ET /4-5pm MT. As a result, this time slot is now available for any member who feels called to share.

We are offering a full one-hour program or two 30-minute programs, weekly on Sundays from 6-7pm ET /4-5pm MT.

Teaching in the Sanctuary is a great way to teach what you would learn. It allows you to deepen into the lessons you are learning and to share in meaningful ways that can potentially help us all to awaken together.

Sounds of Awakening ~ September 15th, 2024

Debut of Rev. Yolanda & The Circle of Love Band on Sounds of Awakening!

Rev. Yolanda has created a new, live musical spiritual celebration in her new location in Brattleboro VT called Rev. Yolanda & The Circle of Love Band. This musical trio consists of Rev. Yolanda, long time musical companion Freddy Freeman, and new musical companion Tyler Wansly. This newly formed group made their debut on Sounds of Awakening, where they sang originals by Rev. Yolanda and Freddy Freeman, as well as cover tunes that illustrate their collective and individual spiritual paths.

Rev. Yolanda is a trans femme gender queer singer/songwriter/performance artist & interfaith minister, originally from Muscle Shoals, Alabama- The Hit Recording Capital of the World. Rev. Yolanda has been making music/theater/TV/film/performance art for well over 40 years, winning the NYC MAC Award twice and inducted into both the NY Blues Hall of Fame and The GLBT Hall of Fame. Rev. Yolanda is so very happy to be a part of and be of service to the Awakening-Together Community on The Member Board of Trustees, as well as with her weekly program The Mighty Companions-The Voice that Likes You.

Join Us For This Month’s Movie: “Sommersby”

Join us for our next Movie Watcher’s Group which will be facilitated by Rev. Kelly Barber on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, at 8 pm ET/6 pm MT.

Sommersby is a 1993 romance/drama film starring  Jodie Foster and Richard Gere. Jack Sommersby (Richard Gere) returns home to the South after the Civil War, seven years after he left as a soldier. He’s a changed man, kind and caring, and his wife Laurel (Jodie Foster) ends her engagement to live with him. However, suspicions arise that he may not be who he says he is.

Although this movie is classified as a romance, I feel it contains so much more. This film explores themes of romantic love, but it also highlights themes of identity, roles we play in community, forgiveness and redemption. I was moved the first time I watched this beautiful movie and look forward to sharing it with you all!

Title: “Misery & Comfort: Ego’s Security Blanket”

Description: What blocks knowing of the presence of Love? Often, it’s the belief that “I” could possibly be unworthy. This is the place where the identity as the “believer” gets either reinforced or a new choice gets made. Together we will explore a loop of experience. Looking at how there are always decision points where the slit in the script may be accessed. How the choice for comfort in the world keeps us stuck in the identity of the “believer”.

Reading: Jill Grace read NIV Bible Revelation CH 19, verses 6-9 and 11-16 & NTI Revelation CH 19.

Contemplating Poetry Using Lectio Divina with Rev. Susan Telford ~ 09-15-24

Rev. Susan Telford guides us in learning the contemplative practice of Lectio Divina using poetry.

In each session, Rev. Susan reads a poem, drawing from a wide range of poets, including Rumi, Hafiz, David Whyte, Mary Oliver, John O’Donohue, and many others (including her own work), then guides participants through the four steps of Lectio Divina.

Susan shares that this direct practice is a beautiful way to connect with Inner Wisdom and obtain clarity.

*This was a special edition program in honor of our dear Rev. Glenn Ganaway. Glen was a regular attendee for the Lectio sessions and his spouse, Rev. Yolanda Mapes shared three of Glen’s favorite Rumi poems which were contemplated during this program.

Join Us for Satsang Reflections for the Josh Putnam Satsang on Monday, September 16 at 11 am ET

Satsang Reflections is a monthly dialogue held after the Satsang. This installment will be on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 11 am – 12 pm ET. Joseph Schmitz will facilitate this installment.

The purpose of this program is to share what was most impactful. Hear from others about what they took away, and deepen into the teaching from the Satsang interview with Josh Putnam where he was interviewed by Joe Schmitz.

We hope you will join us live to discuss and dive deeper into the inspiration that was shared during the Satsang with Josh. Or, just listen in and hear all the biggest highlights and see if this particular Satsang might inspire you in some way.

Calling All Movie Lovers! ~ Become a Volunteer Facilitator for Our Monthly Movie Watchers Group

Are you passionate about watching movies with a deeper sense of awareness as your true Inner Voice guides you? Do you enjoy helping others trust their true Inner Voice? If so, we invite you to volunteer as a facilitator for our Movie Watchers Group, a space where we explore films together and share heartfelt insights.

Movie Watchers meets once a month on the 4th Sunday at 8:00 PM ET/6:00 PM MT. As a facilitator, you’ll select the monthly movie by the 5th of the month, and provide a helpful playsheet by the 10th, which serves as a guide for reflection and discussion. If you need ideas, we have a curated list of movie suggestions to help you out.

Participants will watch the movie before the gathering, and when we meet, we dive into meaningful conversations inspired by the film and insights from our Inner Voice. The use of a playsheet is a handy optional tool for participants which can also help as a guide during the gathering.

We’d love to have you as part of this inspiring journey—join us as a volunteer facilitator and help others connect with their true Inner Voice through the power of cinema!
