Rev. Jacquelyn & Connie – Early Insights, “Watching the News” & “The Importance of Spiritual Purpose, Part 1”

Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert and Connie Poole play Regina Dawn Akers’ Early Teaching videos and invite those in attendance to contemplate those teachings along with them.

Because these teachings are so helpful, Jacquelyn and Connie plan to slowly review them by playing one or two of them each week and contemplating them in a group format.

What is the ‘I Am Bad’ Belief?

A Course in Miracles calls it “guilt.” The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI) calls it “unworthiness.” Regina Dawn Akers simply calls it the “I am bad” belief.

No matter what you call it, it is an untrue belief, most likely adopted in early childhood, which drives actions and reactions in nearly all humans. People make life decisions that they wouldn’t otherwise make because of this belief’s influence. This belief is the primary cause of stress, annoyance, anger, jealousy and other types of mental and emotional suffering. If you release this one belief, your life will be happier, and you will feel much freer than you do with the belief.

The ‘I am Bad’ belief is unconscious for some and somewhat conscious for others, but until it is brought fully into consciousness, the belief cannot be eradicated.

This retreat will focus solely on how to release the ‘I am bad’ belief. If you come, you will learn what you need to learn to be set free!

This retreat was designed by Regina Dawn Akers, who has transcended the ‘I am Bad’ belief. She developed the retreat to show the way, so we can release the belief too. Join facilitators, Christina Goldsmith and Cyndi Krupp, in a collaborative effort to root out and transcend this pesky, persistent belief.

Retreat Schedule

The retreat will begin at 10am ET (8am MT) and end at 5pm ET (3pm MT) each day. A 2-hour lunch period will be provided beginning about 1pm ET (11am MT).

Retreat Fee is $300

While our beloved Anne vacations, we will unpack exceptional pointings in the ACIM UR text that offer opportunities to release our mind from the time belief, a particularly pesky belief to undo. Let’s gently, joyfully and fearlessly explore this belief and the reality of now so that we let eternity dawn upon our mind.

Enlightened Leadership, Tao Te Ching ~ Ch. 39 08-18-24

Awakening Together’s Vice President-Minister, Rev. Rhoda Makled, and Rev. David Hemphill share from the Tao as they contemplate its principles in order to fully embody them.

The Tao Te Ching (The Way), written by Lao-Tzu (Old Teacher), is a guide to enlightened leadership. While most people believe effective leadership lies in knowledge and power, the Tao teaches it lies in emptiness, stillness, and presence.

The pair are using three books including interpretations by Derek Lin, Wayne Wang, and Stephen Mitchell. And now they are excited to add Regina’s translation to their contemplations of the Tao and you are invited to join them each Sunday.

Contemplating Poetry Using Lectio Divina with Rev. Susan Telford ~ 08-18-24

Rev. Susan Telford guides us in learning the contemplative practice of Lectio Divina using poetry.

In each session, Rev. Susan reads a poem, drawing from a wide range of poets, including Rumi, Hafiz, David Whyte, Mary Oliver, John O’Donohue, and many others (including her own work), then guides participants through the four steps of Lectio Divina.

Susan shares that this direct practice is a beautiful way to connect with Inner Wisdom and obtain clarity.

*This was a special edition program in honor of our dear Rev. Glenn Ganaway. Glen was a regular attendee for the Lectio sessions and his spouse, Rev. Yolanda Mapes shared three of Glen’s favorite Rumi poems which were contemplated during this program.

Join us for the brand new program, “Holding A Space For Silence” hosted by Lisa Bakke debuting Thursday, August 22nd, 2024, from 12:00pm-12:30 pm ET/10:00-10:30 am MT. This program will be weekly on Thursdays 12:00pm-12:30 pm ET/10:00-10:30 am MT.

Silence was here before anything else, and it envelops everything else. It is the most primary phenomenon of existence, both palpably something and seemingly nothing. Silence is prior to sound, not the cessation of sound. It is already present. All are welcome to this time of silence. Nothing to do, nothing to say, nothing to be. Our time together will begin with a brief intention for centering followed by 3 sounds of the bell. We will conclude with 3 sounds of the bell and leave in silence.

Join Us for This Month’s Movie, “Chasing Mavericks”

Join us for our next Movie Watcher’s Group which will be facilitated by Joy Bedford on Sunday, August 25th, 2024, at 8 pm ET/6 pm MT.

“Chasing Mavericks” is a 2012 film inspired by the true story of 15-year-old surfing prodigy Jay Moriarty, portrayed by Jonny Weston, and his developing friendship with seasoned surfer Frosty Hesson, played by Gerard Butler. Jay learns that the legendary Mavericks surf break, known for producing some of the largest waves on Earth, is located near his home in California. Determined to conquer it, Jay seeks Frosty’s guidance in mastering the Mavericks. Initially hesitant, Frosty eventually agrees, becoming not only Jay’s coach but also a mentor and father figure, leading to a transformative journey for both of them.

This film was selected for its diverse themes that encourage awakening to our True Self. These themes encompass both the avoidance of facing fear and fearlessly facing the fear that keeps us from awakening to our Self. Additionally, the film highlights our increasing awareness and sensitivity to the field of Divine Love that we inherently are and are always surrounded by. Water and waves are used as powerful symbols representing the inner waves of light and energy that we all navigate.
