Enlightened Leadership, Tao Te Ching ~ Ch. 36 “Practical Paradox” Part 1, 06-02-24

Awakening Together’s Vice President-Minister, Rev. Rhoda Makled, and Rev. David Hemphill share from the Tao as they contemplate its principles in order to fully embody them.

The Tao Te Ching (The Way), written by Lao-Tzu (Old Teacher), is a guide to enlightened leadership. While most people believe effective leadership lies in knowledge and power, the Tao teaches it lies in emptiness, stillness, and presence.

The pair are using three books including interpretations by Derek Lin, Wayne Wang, and Stephen Mitchell. And now they are excited to add Regina’s translation to their contemplations of the Tao and you are invited to join them each Sunday.

REGISTRATION CLOSES IN ONE WEEK

The Bhagavad Gita is an eternal message of spiritual wisdom from ancient India. The word Gita means song and Bhagavad means God, so the Bhagavad Gita is literally the Song of God. Most experts feel the Bhagavad Gita was written 2200 – 2500 years ago, although some experts say that it was written as much as 5000 years ago. The Bhagavad Gita is a conversation, set on a battlefield,  between Lord Krishna and Prince Arjuna. It is comprised of 700 sanskrit verses contained within 18 chapters. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna discusses topics such as ultimate truth, reincarnation, states of mind and liberation (awakening).

In this course you will:

  1. Become familiar with the classic Hindu work, The Bhagavad Gita.
  2. Contemplate verses from the Bhagavad Gita and realize your own guidance.

Course Duration: 3 weeks

Course Starting Date: Monday, June 10, 2024

Homework Begins: Monday, June 10, 2024

Last Day of Course: Sunday, June 30, 2024

Facilitators: Revs. Cyndi Krupp and Susan Telford

Individual Homework Time Commitment: 30-60 minutes per day, six days per week

Structure of Course:Three weeks including one introductory video, 3 weekly instructional videos, and reviewing one other participant’s homework.

Textbook needed: Bhagavad Gita by Eknath Easwaran

Format: Classes will be held in the forum.

Holiday Breaks: No breaks are scheduled

Cost: $90

Rev. Cyndi Krupp ~ I Think, Therefore…, “Let Them See Us Fly ” 05/29/24

In this program, Rev. Cyndi will explore how we can use the Conditioning Loop (What I think, I see, what I see, I experience, what I experience I think) to shine a light on how the little self works to keep us in the dark. She will be using personal stories, contemplations, and wisdom teachings. Join Cyndi in using the world that we see and the thoughts that we think to Awaken Together.

Seven Steps Journal: Out of the Stillness ~ The Conclusion of Step Two

Have you ever wanted to see inside someone else’s mind and heart as they journeyed toward spiritual awakening? Have you ever wondered what obstacles they faced, what inquiries they used, or what insights they experienced? If so, this program is perfect for you. Each week, Regina Dawn Akers shares from her published journal, Out of the Stillness. It was written as a personal journal over 8½ years as she contemplated quotes from spiritual masters and practiced the insight she realized through contemplation. The quotes Regina contemplated were collected by Michael Langford and published in The Seven Steps to Awakening. Both books are used in this program.

This undefended dialogue with Inner Wisdom is just one more way to observe as the self is undone–the intention being to leave space only for awareness of Awareness and release everything that covers Truth.

Awakening Together’s Visiting Minister’s Program

We are pleased to invite you to an informational session on the Visiting Minister’s Program, scheduled for Sunday, June 2nd at 1:30 pm ET/ 11:30 am MT. This half-hour session is designed for both current and future ministers who are interested in serving the Awakening Heart Sangha Community in Ajijic, Mexico.

The Visiting Ministers program offers a unique opportunity for Awakening Together Ordained Ministers to extend their service to our community members residing in the Villa del Angel community. Awakening Together exclusively facilitates this initiative to support our members and foster an effective and successful sangha in the spirit of service.
