Do you find yourself having questions about some of the teachings from Regina Dawn Akers? Have you ever wondered what Regina’s Inner Wisdom meant to Regina?

For many years, Regina has been a spiritual teacher for so many. As such, she has taught on many topics through her own contemplations and spiritual journey.  2022 is Regina’s final year as a full-time employee with Awakening Together. In this final year, Regina has been inspired to clarify her teachings, as they come to her, on her path.

Each week, Regina picks a topic and points us directly to the intention of the teaching around that topic. In addition, when time permits, Regina takes questions on the topic of the teaching in a Satsang-type of format.

Heart Explorations: Embracing the Whole Show~8/2/22

During our time together, we will explore what it takes to live from an open, undefended heart.  Naturally, any true exploration of living from the heart necessarily entails taking a deep and sustained look at what prevents us from keeping our hearts open.  Grounded in the knowledge that the essence of us, our true nature, is the very lovingness within us all, we will explore how to recognize and release egoic energies by cultivating open-hearted awareness practices which support us in directly experiencing our true Self.  By leaning into willingness, steeped in self-honesty, and with a consistent dash of courage, we endeavor to open to whatever life brings, as it brings it, that is, on life’s terms.  In so doing, we trust that everything – absolutely everything – is here for us to use for healing, for purification, and for learning to live from the heart.  We look forward to supporting each other in our individual explorations of how we truly embrace the entirety of this show we call life.

Movie Discussion Group: “Philomena”

Joy Bedford facilitated this month’s movie discussion.

Philomena is a 2013 biography drama comedy film directed by Stephen Frears. It stars Dame Judi Dench, Steve Coogan, and Sophie Kennedy Clark.

Philomena is based on a true story of an elderly Irish woman searching for the son she was forced to give up for adoption when she was a teenager. Accompanying her is a disgraced journalist who wants to write an article about her quest.

Something Genuine: “The Dark Side of Free Will” 7/24/22

In this program, we watched and discussed a selected TEDtalk. A TEDtalk follows a unique format. Speakers at TED events have a maximum of 18 minutes to share their messages, which are delivered in highly polished, succinct speeches. A TEDtalk is delivered by people from all walks of life on a multitude of subjects. A great many of these talks are about the insights gained by ordinary people–insights gained through extraordinary experiences or based on their contemplation of the ordinary events of their lives. Either way, their insights are genuine—not based upon theory or dogma, but through experience.
