500 Days Contemplating NTI ~ Revs. Susan Bacon, Rhoda Makled, & Joanne Schneider

This bi-monthly program was formed to facilitate the contemplation of the “500 Days with NTI” curriculum together.

Revs. Joanne Schneider, Susan Bacon, and Rhoda Makled host the program on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 7:30 – 8:30 pm ET.

In this program, we engage in and discuss the 500 Days with NTI program designed by our founder and the scribe of The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI), Regina Dawn Akers. Regina developed this free self-study spiritual curriculum for people with very busy lives. If you don’t have a lot of available time, but you are serious about spiritual awakening, this may be the curriculum for you!

500 Days provides daily exercises that you can do as you work, socialize, clean house, do yard work, work out, play, etc. It’s a course that goes with you wherever you go!

Rev. Jacquelyn & Connie Poole – Early Insights, “Make Ready for Enlightenment”

Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert and Connie Poole play Regina Dawn Akers’ Early Teaching videos and invite those in attendance to contemplate those teachings along with them.

Because these teachings are so helpful, Jacquelyn and Connie plan to slowly review them by playing one or two of them each week and contemplating them in a group format.

Rev. Michele Hojnacki guides a group of committed students through year 1 of Gentle Healing who want to make consistent, gentle progress toward genuine peace, joy, and love. This group meets weekly on Mondays at 5-7 pm ET/3-5 pm MT and all members are committed to specific assignments and practices between group meetings.

Homework for week 1:

Homework Assignment A: ACIM Workbook Lessons 1-7

1. First, read the lesson all the way through and then practice the lesson according to its instructions
2. If you have done the ACIM workbook before, you may add what you hear and feel to the exercises for Lessons 1-3.
3. As you do exercises 1-3, you may notice the meaning you have given to things. Just notice and continue with the exercise.
4. Tip for Lesson 4: Sometimes people have trouble remembering to do the workbook lesson when it is to be done more than twice per day. They get on with their day and forget all about the lesson. Here’s a tip: When you finish the workbook lesson 4 in the morning, make a decision about when you will do it next. After you do the lesson the second time, make a decision about when to do it again. After the third time, make a decision about when to do it for the fourth time. If you make a conscious decision about when you will do the exercise next, you are less likely to forget to do it.

Homework Assignment B: Read NTI Luke, Chapters 12 (p151-155) and Chapters 16-17 (p161-167).
1. Do not read all at once. Read a little each day contemplatively.
2. Explore the reading through journaling. Journal clarity, questions, confusion, resistance, willingness, etc.
3. If there is a Bible icon before a verse reference, read those verses from the Bible before reading that interpretation from NTI.

Movie Discussion Group: This Beautiful Fantastic

Rev. Kelly Barber facilitated this month’s movie discussion group.

This Beautiful Fantastic is a 2016 British romantic drama film. Bella Brown is a young woman with an obsessive–compulsive disorder. She works in a public library and is trying to write a children’s book. Bella makes unlikely alliances to help her break through her fears, in this case, her fear of plants. With the help of a cook and mean old neighbor she discovers the way to unlock her guardedness, transcend into a new world where flowers and trees are no longer the seeming enemies, and she unexpectedly discovers inspiration where once there was none.

The impetus for the choice for this movie is how the metaphor of gardening can so easily relate to our own spiritual practice, with how one may need careful tending, patience, and consistency needed to bring forth something nourishing and full of substance. These concepts point to the building blocks of spiritual practice in that we tend to the unseen and through faith something miraculous springs forth.

New Sunday Morning Meditations Based on the Radiance Sutras with Rev. Saina Fernandez

We invite you to join us every other Sunday morning for live meditations based on the Radiance Sutras from 9:30-10:00 am ET/7:30-8:00 am MT. The debut will be on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

In this program, Radiantly Alive Meditations, Rev. Saina Fernandez will lead us step-by-step through the 112 gateways into meditation. These meditations are doorways into the wonder, awe, and bliss that are always available to us. If you have ever struggled with meditation, or it has become dry in some way, then these ways of meditating can possibly bring life and aliveness to your practice.

For those not familiar with the Radiance Sutras, this book is a translation of the ancient text Vijnana Bhairava Tantra.
