Introducing this Month’s Movie: “The Adam Project”

Join us for our next Movie Watcher’s Group which will be facilitated by Laura Joy Bedford on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 8 pm ET/6 pm MT.

The Adam Project is a 2022 American science fiction action comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Jennifer Garner. Ryan plays Adam Reed, a fighter pilot from the future who uses technology from his world to go back in time and meet his younger self. His mission is to save his wife, Laura. Maya Sorian, the leader of the dystopian world wants total dominion over the time machine technology and wants Laura killed because she knows too much.

The younger Adam helps the older Adam and the adventure begins as they attempt to change the future by destroying the time machine. Along the way, both Adams meet with their father and old resentments surface that eventually lead down the path to forgiveness.

This film was chosen because it explores many awakening subjects such as forgiveness, seeing things differently, the magnetic attraction of ego, Divine Love, correcting error, how love finds itself (the Divine Field), the concept of time, the suffering involved with the desire to be right and the desire for control, and much more, all within a fun story.

This program is Awakening Together’s In the Company of Truth with Helen Hamilton which airs on the first Wednesday monthly from 3-4 pm ET. In addition to his writing and music, John holds a Ph.D. in health psychology, is an internationally acclaimed scholar in the field of mind-body medicine, and a professor of counseling/clinical psychology at Santa Clara University.

Heart Explorations: Embracing the Whole Show ~ 1/31/23

During our time together, we will explore what it takes to live from an open, undefended heart. Naturally, any true exploration of living from the heart necessarily entails taking a deep and sustained look at what prevents us from keeping our hearts open. Grounded in the knowledge that the essence of us, our true nature, is the very lovingness within us all, we will explore how to recognize and release egoic energies by cultivating open-hearted awareness practices which support us in directly experiencing our true Self. By leaning into willingness, steeped in self-honesty, and with a consistent dash of courage, we endeavor to open to whatever life brings, as it brings it, that is, on life’s terms. In so doing, we trust that everything – absolutely everything – is here for us to use for healing, for purification, and for learning to live from the heart. We look forward to supporting each other in our individual explorations of how we truly embrace the entirety of this show we call life.
