New Program on Sunday Evening at 6pm ET: Herein Lies the Peace of God

Join Revs. Jacquelyn Eckert and Glen Ganaway as they review and discuss The Keys to NTI*. The program will focus on how the principles of The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament inform their personal lives, relationships with others, and relationship with the world at large. This program will be an ongoing weekly exploration of the timeless teachings that came through the scribe, Regina Dawn Akers. Herein Lies the Peace of God will begin at its new date and time on Sunday, September 18 at 6 pm ET.

*The Keys to NTI is a sampler of The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament. It includes the books of Luke, Acts, Galatians, and Revelation.

We hope that you will join us for the discussion of this month’s movie on Sunday, September 25th at 8 pm ET/6 pm MT. Rev. Kelly Barber will be facilitating this month’s movie discussion.

The Starling is a 2021 American comedy-drama film directed by Theodore Melfi and written by Matt Harris. A married couple, the Maynards, suffer after the death of their baby daughter from SIDS. The husband, Jack (Chris O’Dowd), is in a residential mental hospital while his wife Lilly (Melissa McCarthy) remains at home, dealing with her own feelings alone.

This is an emotional drama, with spots of beautiful humor, around a story of loss. It demonstrates how when we are faced with a “universal sucker punch”, we are given a profound opportunity to heal a host of long-standing beliefs and assumptions, and lay aside some of the false identities we cling to. It also demonstrates how we use self-will for protection and how surrender leads to healing.

This movie has some spiritual themes that include interdependence, compassion, self-honesty, and humility.

What is this mystical Islamic religion, which has produced great seers such as Rumi and Hafiz? What do Sufis believe about God? What does it mean to totally empty yourself? Join us for “Introduction to Sufi Thought” and discover the heart of the Sufi by experiencing it directly, within yourself.

In this class you will:

  1. Become familiar with the mystical path of Islam known as Sufism.
  2. Practice inner devotion and observe its effects.

Purpose: The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to the inner devotional practice of spirituality through Sufism.

Course Duration: 5 weeks

Course Section Times & Starting Dates: Tuesdays, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. ET beginning November 8 (Facilitator: George Maddox) OR Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m. ET, beginning November 9 (Facilitator: Rev. Kelly Barber). WEDNESDAY SECTION CLOSED. SPOTS AVAILABLE IN TUESDAY SECTION.

Homework Begins: Tuesday Class; Nov. 1 OR Wednesday Class; Nov. 2. WEDNESDAY SECTION CLOSED. SPOTS AVAILABLE IN TUESDAY SECTION.

Last Day of Course: Tuesday Class; Dec. 13 OR Wednesday Class; Dec. 14. WEDNESDAY SECTION CLOSED. SPOTS AVAILABLE IN TUESDAY SECTION.

Individual Homework Time Commitment: 30-60 minutes per day, 6 days per week.

Structure of Course: Five weekly 2-hour sessions.

Format: Classes will be held live on a Zoom Link weekly.

Fear can be experienced in many ways. It may feel like uneasiness or angst, which blocks your ability to relax fully; it may be experienced as nervousness, apprehension or excessive worry; it may be experienced as absolute terror. Fear can also be repressed and experienced as other emotions, such as frustration or anger. In any case, fear distorts your perception and your ability to think clearly with the right mind.

At this retreat, you will come to understand the cause of fear and learn how you can become free of fear.

Retreat Details:

The retreat will begin at 10am ET (8am MT) and end at 5pm ET (3pm MT) each day.

Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert and Connie Poole play Regina Dawn Akers’ Early Teaching videos and invite those in attendance to contemplate those teachings along with them.

Because these teachings are so helpful, Jacquelyn and Connie plan to slowly review them by playing one or two of them each week and contemplating them in a group format.

Qigong : “The Movement of Now” with Ian McArthur~ 9-4-22

In this program, Ian teaches about the traditional Mind, Body, and Spirit practice of Qigong (Chi Kung). Qi means life energy, referring to the energy circulating through the body, and Gong means cultivation or work. The two words are combined to describe a practice to cultivate and balance life energy. By following movements (forms) and a simple breathing technique, we encourage more Qi to flow which in turn allows us to feel more peaceful and at One with ourselves.
