500 Days with NTI ~ Day 369

January 5, 2022

Day 369 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):

  1. Read NTI 1 Timothy 1 (v1, 2) thru (v3-7).
  2. The reading said personhood (the idea that you are a person) is meaningless, because the world is not real. Contemplate this:
    (a) The world is not what it appears to be; it is consciousness.
    (b) You are not what you appear to be; you are consciousness.
    (c) What is consciousness?

Tomorrow:

Meditate using the stage 1, 2 or 3 meditation technique, whichever suits you best.

Please read quotes 957-960 in The Seven Steps to Awakening with your inner teacher. Here is the last quote:

It is a matter of actual experience that the Self has being independent of mind and body. It is being-awareness-bliss. Awareness of being is bliss.

Tip for Gentle Healing Year 2 – Day 311 – How to Awaken from the Dream Part Two

January 5, 2022

Yesterday we contemplated this definition of sacrifice:

An act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy.

We are asked to sacrifice our attachment to mind in order to awaken to true perception.

Do you feel that’s a worthy sacrifice?

Is it a sacrifice you want to make?

As we’ve learned before, desire is the most important factor in awakening. If you really want to sacrifice the attachment to mind and awaken to true perception, you will follow through and do that.

How?

By using the practices that we’ve been introduced to:

  1. Daily reading and contemplation
  2. Journaling with inner wisdom
  3. Awareness-watching-awareness meditation
  4. The loving all method
  5. Surrender
  6. Practicing the mantra
  7. Questioning mental chatter to see if it is “me”

Eventually, you will be able to drop the first two on the list and live with practices 3-7.

One who desires awakening makes spiritual practice the focus of his/her daily life. Today’s message refers to that as devotion. Devotion is living from within. We awaken from the dream through devotion.

Today’s message also says:  Devotion is a slow process.

That means when we are devoted, we aren’t quick to react. Instead, we check within before responding to any outer stimulus. Instead of living from the fast-paced chaos of mind, we are deeply surrendered within.

Thoughts of Awakening # 311

Learn to listen to silence.
It too has a Voice.
You must be still to hear its Voice,
because its Voice is not loud
or controlling.

The Voice of silence is peaceful
and suggesting.

It gives ideas of love
into a world
that seems not to know love.
Therefore, its suggestions
may be different
than you would think.

Let go of what you think
out of a desire
to listen to love.

Be still.
Listen.
And joyously follow.

500 Days with NTI ~ Day 368

January 4, 2022

Day 368 Assignment

This evening (or tomorrow morning):

  1. Read NTI 2 Thessalonians 3 in full.
  2. At a time that is convenient for you, either this evening or sometime tomorrow, sit down with your list of self-judgments. Look at each item on the list, one at a time. With each one:
    (a) Ask: Have you come to me from the Heart?
    (b) If the answer is yes, embrace the idea.
    (c) If the answer is no, look at the idea with willingness to let it go. Be the superconductor with any feelings that arise.
    (d) When the previous step is complete, allow yourself to feel peace while looking at that idea on the list. Focus on the sense of peace for a few moments before going to the next idea on the list.

Tomorrow:

Meditate using the stage 1, 2 or 3 meditation technique, whichever suits you best.
