Read NTI Acts 27 in full.

Tomorrow:

  1. Close your eyes and meditate by being aware. See how deep your awareness can go in the length of time that you’ve decided to meditate.
  2. Pay attention to notice when you feel worried, anxious, nervous, uneasy, afraid or when you want to avoid something:
    (a) Discern for yourself: Is the current thinking ego-reasoning or right-reasoning?
    (b) Ask: What do I want to live by? Ego-reasoning or right-reasoning?
    (c) If you want to live by right-reasoning and the current thinking is egoic, let go of your thinking & ask intuition for guidance.
    (d) If you want to live by right-reasoning and the current thinking is right-reasoning, trust it and follow its guidance.
    (e) If you want to live by ego-reasoning, observe the result of your decision. Did it cause happiness or some type of upset/suffering?

Tips for Gentle Healing Year 2 – Day 212 – Colossians 1 & 2

NTI Colossians combines the teaching of NTI Ephesians and NTI Philippians, while bringing more clarity to both.

NTI Ephesians taught that you are the process of creation, and your way of being is creative spirit. Whatever you accept as true is given through spirit to all of consciousness and is experienced by consciousness in the Fourth Principle of God, the realm of manifestation.

NTI Philippians taught that your creative spirit isn’t the result of your purpose alone. Your purpose (motive) combined with believing attention (faith) creates the way of being that is creative spirit. NTI Philippians recommended you watch the body to see if the motive and faith it follows is the motive and faith that you want as your creative spirit. It also recommended that you stand firm with the purpose of the Heart.

NTI Colossians points to what we are beyond the creative principle, which is life-awareness. It reminds us that our truth is the truth of everything. It’s not just that I am life-awareness and an insect is life-awareness too. The insect and I are the same  life-awareness.

In other words, NTI Ephesians pointed to the Third Principle of God as what we are. NTI Colossians begins there, and then points directly at the First Principle of God as our actual reality.

To say we are merely the Fourth Principle of God, manifestation, is a mistake. To say we are the Third Principle of God, the creative principle, is more correct. To say we are the Second Principle of God, consciousness, is closer to truth. To say we are the First Principle of God, life-awareness, is truth. To say we are all four principles simultaneously is the essence of truth, since all four principles are made up of the First Principle of God.

In NTI, the First Principle of God is called Life. The Second Principle of God is called spirit. The Third Principle of God is called creation. The Fourth Principle of God is called form. You are all of them, because you are Life, which is the source and the essence of them all.

Gratitude is a gift.
It is the natural extension of love.
To love is to extend,
and to be grateful is to love.

Gratitude extends.
It increases.
This is what it does.

Heart Explorations: Embracing the Whole Show~9/14/21

During our time together, we will explore what it takes to live from an open, undefended heart.  Naturally, any true exploration of living from the heart necessarily entails taking a deep and sustained look at what prevents us from keeping our hearts open.  Grounded in the knowledge that the essence of us, our true nature, is the very lovingness within us all, we will explore how to recognize and release egoic energies by cultivating open-hearted awareness practices which support us in directly experiencing our true Self.  By leaning into willingness, steeped in self-honesty, and with a consistent dash of courage, we endeavor to open to whatever life brings, as it brings it, that is, on life’s terms.  In so doing, we trust that everything – absolutely everything – is here for us to use for healing, for purification, and for learning to live from the heart.  We look forward to supporting each other in our individual explorations of how we truly embrace the entirety of this show we call life.

Addition to Awakening Together Leadership

Awakening Together is delighted to announce an upcoming addition to the Awakening Together leadership.

Rhoda Makled will be the new Vice President of Awakening Together, effective January 1, 2022. She is an Awakening Together Licensed Minister and is currently a participant in the Awakening Together Minister Preparation Program. She is expected to be ordained in December 2022.  Rhoda has been actively involved with Awakening Together since she began Gentle Healing in 2018.  Since then she has actively served our community in a variety of capacities including her most recent role as an Elected Member of the Board of Trustees. 

Recently she generously accepted the more involved position of Vice President. Rhoda is currently serving in a volunteer capacity in preparation.  As Vice President, she will serve as an integral member of the Leadership Subcommittee and work closely with the President-Minister.

Inception is a 2010 American science fiction, action, adventure film directed by Christopher Nolan, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Elliot Paige.

Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible, inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea, but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.

Inception won several academy awards for cinematography and was nominated for screenwriting.

The movie demonstrates in a grand way the idea of illusion and the source of that illusion being thought.  It also has an interesting way of addressing the idea that there are no private thoughts…in the world of form, nothing can be trusted as real.

The movie is available on Netflix and HBO Max with a subscription. It is also available for purchase on Amazon or rent on Prime Video.

    (c) If you want to live by right-reasoning and the current thinking is egoic, let go of your thinking & ask intuition for guidance.

    (e) If you want to live by ego-reasoning, observe the result of your decision. Did it cause happiness or some type of upset/suffering?

Tips for Gentle Healing Year 2 – Day 211 – Commentary on Desire

Please read and contemplate the following commentary in the same way that you read and contemplate the Thought of Awakening. The commentaries are designed to enrich your understanding of the Thoughts of Awakening.

~ Commentary on Desire ~

Listening is a habit that is cultivated through desire. By desiring to listen and follow, one begins to listen and follow. Through desiring to listen and follow more, one begins to increase the habit of listening and following.

Desire is worth cultivating. Spending time focusing on one’s desire to listen and follow is helpful to the practice and the habit, because all practice and all habit follows desire.

Remember your desire in the mind. Have gratitude for your desire in the heart. Trust your desire in the moment. All of this will cultivate the desire, and the desire shall blossom into a lovely new habit.

Listening to the Heart
is not a special talent
that some have and others don’t.
Listening to the Heart
is one talent given to all.

When you hear your brother
speak from his Heart
and you recognize it,
you are listening to yours.

When you hear your brother
speak from his Heart
and you want to follow it,
you are desiring to follow yours.

Recognize the Heart as one Heart,
and be grateful whenever you hear its song.
Through your gratitude for it,
you tune in with it,
and once you are in tune,
you will hear it more.
